Amsterdam, September 2nd – OneFootball, the world’s leading digital football media platform, has taken a major step in its global growth strategy for its OTT streaming marketplace thanks to a new partnership with Cleeng. More than 25 broadcasters have already launched channels on OneFootball TV to reach, engage, and monetize the generation of football fans around the world, including Sky Sport, MagentaSport, LaB Channel, Globo, and CazéTV. Powered by Cleeng’s Subscriber Retention Management (SRM®) suite, the OTT streaming marketplace now offers enhanced, full-funnel customer management, as well as localized payment methods, multi-currency support, and built-in tax compliance.
Multi-territorial channels on OneFootball TV, such as Bundesliga Pass and FIFA+, are expected to particularly benefit from improved cross-device insights and customer convenience, while OneFootball Channels in non-European core markets such as Brazil can now leverage locally relevant payment methods on web-based OneFootball TV (available on tv.onefootball.com).
To power this, Cleeng provides the technology to manage OTT customers, process payments, and analyze engagement, all designed to work across OneFootball’s devices, currencies, and payment methods, with built-in tax compliance.
The launch also includes:
-
Instant offer management: a custom-built Offer Update API enables OneFootball to update offers directly from their backend, allowing rapid changes without relying on Cleeng’s dashboard or SDK.
-
Localized fan communications: transactional emails tailored to each market’s language and terminology to better connect with fans globally.
-
Out-of-the-box payment integration: connecting with local payment partners to maximize conversion and acceptance rates.
-
Optimized checkout experience: implementation of Cleeng’s components with modern best practices: checkout on the left, offer details and pricing on the right.
“The mission of OneFootball TV is to make it easier for the new generation of fans to discover and watch football by connecting them with the world’s leading broadcasters. But running a direct-to-consumer marketplace in more than 100 different jurisdictions comes with challenges and complexities related to payments, currencies, and compliance.” said Yannick Ramcke, General Manager OTT at OneFootball. “Cleeng’s expertise and flexibility have allowed us to operate globally while delivering frictionless sign-up and watch experiences across devices, and in line with the growing expectations of digital-native audiences today."
"Expanding a streaming service globally means getting every local detail right – from currency and tax to language and user experience. OneFootball’s ambition to bring more of the world’s game to fans everywhere aligns perfectly with our mission,” added Gilles Domartini, CEO and Founder at Cleeng. “By combining local payment capabilities with tailored conversion and retention tools, we’ve helped them scale into some of the world’s most challenging markets without slowing down their growth."
